Well I hate to say it but food is still by far the number one thing on my mind. I'm at a good healthy weight, 158 as of today but I would like to get down to 150 & stay between 150 & 155. If I stay between these weights I won't obsess about day to day weight gains, as I can do right now. At this point that means eating pretty much as little as possible, so I'm doing things like cutting down on snacks & dropping my cereal consumption down to 2 cups & no fun cereal either, it's just Kashi Go-Lean for me. That's regular Go-Lean, none of that Go-Lean Crunch for me for now. I also need to work out harder, I've been slacking a bit. I bought the Wii-Fit Plus, I do like it better, here is it on Amazon for only $15.58. The best part is that you can string together exercises so you don't have to keep choosing different exercises.
It looks like some of my good work is rubbing off, my letter carrier has dropped about 30 pounds recently & he says I've inspired him. 2 kewl 4 skool, huh?! My prom date is getting her own reality show, she's a physic detective & she could drop a few pounds. She's checked this blog, who knows?
The reason I don't currently weigh 150-155 is because I have been doing quite a bit of cheating lately. But here is one of my wacky theories & anyone who knows me knows I'm full of them (and it). If you're going to eat too much of junk you shouldn't be eating, at least eat the best quality junk you can find. I got back a few weeks ago from Las Vegas & frankly ate & drank my ass off. It was my friend Brandee's birthday & I decided to just eat & drink as much as I wanted to, but it was all very high end stuff & even though I gained about 4 pounds. Here are some pictures from the party:
We stayed at The Aria which is part of the new City center development in Las Vegas. Interesting place, great food, but still a LOT of bugs. Here's the letter I sent to Aria, I've received absolutely no response from them so I'll share it with all of you:
Hello I want to give you some comments & suggestions on my recent trip to The Aria Resort & Casino. I want to make sure you understand this is not a complaint letter, all of the problems I had at The Aria were taken care of by your manager Lindsay Calveri and this note is just a follow-up to help you smooth out some of the bugs in your new hotel.
On Friday April 7th 2010 I checked in to The Aria and went up to my assigned room 28-159. Upon entering I immediately noticed that the carpet was both dirty (not well vacuumed) & stained. I found this unpleasant but not a huge problem. However I then looked at the bedspread & found, to put it clinically, a male ejaculation stain. I was quite repulsed as was the bellman who brought up my bags. I called down to the front desk & after a very long hold time was told I would be given a new room, one night comped. & a $75.00 resort credit, a quite fair compromise in my opinion. The credit was not actually put on my account at that time but Ms. Calveri fixed that later. I was also told a bellman would be sent up to help me with my bags. After about 10 minutes no bellman came so I called down to the bell desk & after another long hold time a bellman came up to my room. We then proceeded to the second room 33-108. I told the bellman everything was fine & let him go, a little too early it ends up. I tried turning on the TV & could not get it to work, either from the remote or the bedside control. So I called the front desk again, was on hold a long time again & was finally told they would reboot the TV within 10 minutes. After 15 minutes with no reboot I headed down to the front desk, asked for the manager & Lindsay Calveri put me in a 50th floor suite room 52-102, gave me more than $75.00 credit & comped. one night & I was very pleased with the outcome.
It was 90 minutes of annoyance but luckily it was just me going to a friends birthday at Eve so I survived & had some good stories to tell. Unfortunately every where I went in the hotel I kept overhearing stories of people's problems with the hotel, I will let them tell their own stories rather than give them to you second hand. The following though are problems I noticed that I think should be addressed:
- The lights & curtains are very confusing, some are labeled, some are not, some work at the switch, some not. Some work with the TV remote, some with the bedside remote. I think you know where I'm going with this. I watched one poor friend at 4:00 in the morning after a night of dinner, dancing, drinking & clubbing trying to just turn on the lights to find the bathroom. It was sad, quite funny but sad.
- A couple more minor bugs. I used the spa tub & after turning off the jets & draining the tub the tub started up again & I could not get it to turn off. Finally it turned itself off because the tub drained. Also one of the bellman pointed this out to me, your personal electronics hook-up has a major flaw. You have a hook-up for an iPod but the jack provided doesn't fit an iPod, it needs to be a BNC connector so the iPod provided cable will fit. Also time to clean the windows.
Let me sum up the room's problems like this. People come to Vegas to get away from the stresses of modern life. We want to eat too much, drink too much & do whatever we can't or shouldn't at home. We just want to turn on & off the TV & the lights & open & close the curtains, please make these things as easy as possible on us. I love bells & whistles but always remember the principle of KISS, keep it simple stupid!
But let me tell you what was great
Sorry for the long letter but I thought since you took care of me I would take care of you by giving you a guest eye's view. I've been coming to Vegas for at least 40 years & plan to come as often as I can in the future.
- Ms. Calveri did a great job, she saw a problem & took care of it. NO attitude on her part or on any other employees for that matter.
- Quick elevators, that's very important to me.
- The food was great! I had meals at Todd English, Mastro's & Michael Mina & all meals were wonderful with great service & not too bad prices. I also loved Jean Philippe Patisserie, great idea, I wonder why no one had ever thought of putting a pastry shop in the casino before. One suggestion though, they should bake twice a day so later in the evening there is a better selection.

Other than that not much has been up and boy do I need more to come up!!!
